All programme participants must receive a referral from their medical specialist, practice nurse or GP.

  • The programme currently runs twice weekly in Nelson.
  • The programme begins in September 2014 in Golden Bay.
  • We aim to bring you Fit Flamingoes, Blenheim in 2015.

“I have been attending Fit Flamingoes for over twelve months, and my mobility has improved tremendously during this time. I love the class and Greg is excellent at addressing participants problems on an individual basis. I cannot recommend the programme highly enough, neither age nor weight needs to be a barrier to being a Fit Flamingo!”Beryl Salmond

“It was such a nurturing experience to be able to share and hear from others who have gone through similar circumstances, and realise how everybody suffers from anxiety and uncertainty. Very valuable. This should be a “must do” for every cancer survivor” – Anon

Survivorship Programme

photoThe Survivorship programme is back for 2016. Please CONTACT US to book your space.

In 2014 the NRBCT ran its inaugural Survivorship Programme almost 100 delegates attended. The conference was specially developed for breast cancer patients and their carers and focused on moving forward with life beyond treatment for Breast Cancer.

Guest speakers and health care professionals presented sessions throughout the day aimed to help delegates understand the facilities available locally in terms of follow-up medical care and support services. Topics covered included dealing with the physical and emotional effects of treatment, the importance of exercise and nutrition and lingerie options post surgery. The emphasis was very much on practical information to help survivors move forward and embrace life.

We aim to run these programmes on an annual basis. Please SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER to hear about upcoming events.
